O they tell me of a home far beyond the skies, O they tell me of a home far away;
O they tell me of a home where no storm clouds rise, O they tell me of an uncloudy day.

Minority Status next?

I came across a great opinion piece by David Brody on the CBN News website worth passing along. And it echos my thoughts almost exactly!

The issue being discussed is the level of public acceptance of Christians dropping to below that of homosexuals. If true, it is the first time since the first century that Christians would be thought of so lowly.
The tables have been turned. Evangelicals are now the ugly stepchild. In our American culture today, you can easily make the argument that it is harder to stand for biblical truth than it is to be a supporter of gay marriage in today's society. CBN News Blog
The decline of prestige suffered by the Christians isn't the only reason for this reversal of approval ratings, there has been a significant rise in the social acceptance of the homosexual identity over the same time period.

Throughout history, homosexuality has not rated well among the masses. Sure, there always have been gay men and women, but it was not socially "acceptable", so they kept to the shadows of society.

But in the last 40 years, homosexuality has become main stream. There aren't any reliable statistics that can verify this, but it is pretty clear from the tone of news reporting and the subject matter of t.v. sitcoms that there has been a paradigm shift in society.

In the end times, things will be backwards, and I believe we may be seeing the beginning of that time. I have projects in the works on that subject, but for now a couple verses come to mind:
(Jude 1:17-18)
17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
(2 Timothy 4:4)
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
It's important for us to encourage one another to stay faithful and strong in our faith during these times of mocking and backwardness.

It's going to get more polarized and difficult as we near the end, but Praise God we are spared from the worst of it!

Pray for those on the front lines of witnessing and missionary outreach, and don't neglect your own missionary field wherever you are planted!
