O they tell me of a home far beyond the skies, O they tell me of a home far away;
O they tell me of a home where no storm clouds rise, O they tell me of an uncloudy day.

Dominos Pizza Wins Court Case

Since the new health plan was signed into law, there have been several attempts at having the courts invalidate the law for one reason or another. And all of those attempts have failed to achieve their goal, until this case - Monaghan & Domino's vs. Sebelius & HHS.
Notably, judge Lawrence Zatkoff decided that Monaghan was likely to succeed on the basis of both his First Amendment and Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) claims, a ruling that other courts have been unwilling or hesitant to make.

The government has argued that the contraceptive mandate does not substantially burden a for-profit business owner's freedom of religion, denying that a corporation has the same rights as its owner even if the corporation is closely held. Courts have been wary of weighing in on this—until recently.

I have not examined all the information yet, so I don't understand the difference between this case and the others yet. But there are a couple of things that stand out to me because of their significance.

One point is that the Gov't believes business's do not enjoy Constitutional rights because they are not people, and the second point is that the Gov't called Domino's a "for-profit business" thereby implying they are less-worthy than a non-profit business, advocacy group, union, agency...etc.

The whole socialistic movement is based on certain suspicions and biases that poorer peoples have in regards to wealthier people. Now, in the 2nd decade of the 21st century, there appears to be a tip in the demographics that enable the socialists to flex their muscle and shape policy.

I liken it to the mobs with torches and pitchforks storming the county manor because they think the Earl is practicing dark magic, how else could one person get so much money!!

The Bible tells us that we should pay our taxes, and that we should obey the laws. The Bible also says that we are not to be forced to donate to charity against our will, that God loves a cheerful giver. However, modern Gov't programs are in a sense - Gov't run charity.
(2 Corinthians 9:6-7)
6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
So the dilemma for the Christian is which instruction overrides the other? Either we pay taxes and not worry about the funding of abortions et al, or we sue the Gov't because we aren't cheerful about their spending!

And that's just what Mr Managhan of Domino's Pizza chose to do, he sued.

It will be interesting to watch this case as it proceeds through the court system. I will report here any developments I find. In the mean time, we need to always pray for our leaders and our fellow citizens to seek God's righteousness first ... because a few bad things have happened throughout history to countries that have turned entirely away from God.
