O they tell me of a home far beyond the skies, O they tell me of a home far away;
O they tell me of a home where no storm clouds rise, O they tell me of an uncloudy day.

A Lively Hope

Many times when we wake up in the morning we don't feel particularly lively. Other times, when we are reading The Bible, we don't feel particularly lively. And when we think about a chore, task, or job we have to do....we definitely don't feel particularly lively!

There seems to be a certain lethargy affecting us humans that we always need to strive against, we need always to be generating enthusiasm or energy in ourselves. Some of us drink a lot of coffee, others tea, some take vitamins, while others need to nap often.

If you believe in Jesus Christ, have The Holy Spirit, and look forward to your resurrection body and being with Jesus in Heaven for all eternity - then you should have "a lively hope" while we go through our day that is in comparison to the drag of no hope unbelievers have as they trudge along to their end.

(1 Peter 1:3-4)
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
This hope that we have should brighten our attitudes in a glum world, give us enthusiasm on monday mornings, excite us to do The Lords missionary work in our fields, and be a witness to the down trodden and beaten people that serving God is joyful!

It isn't always easy to overcome the devils influence because we are inhabiting fallen bodies and living in a fallen world. But praise God he has redeemed it and us! Because of the certain example of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, our hope is certain and will not fade away, our place is reserved in heaven!

Dear Lord, thank you for saving my soul, thank you for the absolute certain promise of eternity in heaven with you! Lord please help me to be enthusiastic and joyful always and to have a lively hope because you live! In Jesus name - Amen.
